What? They explained constantly thru the series that debris from the destroyed invading ships falls down, they even call them “Arkfalls” And salvaging from arkfalls was Nolan and Irisa’s job before they became law keepers. That’s why they took Nolan to check the crash site.

During the episode Nolan realizes there’s no power source on the crashed ship and that the E-Rep wanted the Gulanee soldiers as a weapon. At the end of the episode the E-Rep rep reminds the new mayor they wanted the soldiers and the new mayor says wasn’t his fault it got free. So they did mention why they were there.

Whoa! Whoa! The “Don’t tread on me” flag alias the Gadsen Flag, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gadsden_flag was not created by nor for the Tea Party. It was created by the American Revolutionaries against British control, it basically means defiance. The Tea Party think that flag represents their ideals and uses it. And besides, it’s over 30 years in the future, The Tea Party probably died because the U.S is gone, therefore they won’t be electing anymore black presidents for the Tea Party to protest against. So I don’t think Nolan is using it to post his “position” on not voting for blacks.

Nolan always has been treating Tommy as a kid. I think in part because he was a raw recruit in the first season and still treats him the same because he still sees him that way. And that’ll probably won’t change til Tommy punches Nolan in the face or Tommy saves Nolan from his own stupidity.

I realize the “Don’t Tread on Me” flag was not invented but co-opted by the Tea Party. Just as I realize the Tea Party isn’t THE (Boston) Tea Party. I just thought the flag’s use was purposeful by set designers (or whoever) and wanted to know the real reason it would be put in a modern sci-fi story. Today it’s used by modern Tea Partiers who are not all racists but are known for their close mindedness, negativity, heroism, courage, depending on your view of them. What does it mean for Nolan? What are the writers telling us? It made me “feel” a certain way which is always, if not accurate, valid.
