Sci-Fi Party Line #209 Automata, Robocop, The Signal – Turd Off Part 1

ANBTONIO BANDERAS

“She looks like someone disassembled a crash test dummy and mixed it with a store mannequin.”
– Carl (@robominister)

“It doesn’t matter what form the robot takes (because) it’s gonna be able to survive. It didn’t need to be in roach form.”
– Cat (@fancyfembot)

“Sure it’s gonna cause a little chaos in the beginning but eventually it’s gonna say ‘You know what? This is a dumb game. The only way to win is not to play’.”
– Carl (@robominister)

“The painful part about it is that I absolutely pulled this switch off of a tree and asked Carl to spank me with it.”
– Cat (@fancyfembot)

Sci-Fi Party Line #162 Night of the Doctor, Gravity, Thor, Walking Dead, Feedback

thor_2_the_dark_world

“This is insane. This is totally insane.”
-Eric (@BullittWHO) watching ‘Night of the Doctor’

“What you get is a whole lot of wanking going on…”
-Eric (@BullittWHO)

“When I see blatantly ridiculous things as tears shooting off of someone’s face in Zero-G, I don’t let that bother me…”
-Carl (@robominister)

“Shirt off in the first seven minutes of the film!”
-Cat (@fancyfembot)

“I have no recollection of this money shot you’re talking about.”
-Eric (@BullittWHO)

“I do not want to like Thor films. Unfortunately, I really like this Thor film.”
-Carl (@robominister)

The band is back together for an epic THREE HOUR EPISODE! Today’s crew is Carl, Eric, and Cat. Today we discuss the BBC Doctor Who Webisode “Night of the Doctor”. Next, we talk about Gravity (@15:48) and get into a cool discussion about realistic space movies. I got those guys to stop blahblahing about space and WE WENT TO THOR! (@51:11). Cat takes a moment to rant about Christopher Eccleston and his BAD decision to not join the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who. We talk The Walking Dead, Carol’s dark turn and resulting exit (@1:20:43). We also voices our concerns about Agents of SHIELD (@1:15:01). Eric compares it to Arrow. Cat is the only one excited about the new Robocop trailer (@2:14:48). Carl discusses his reaction to the pilot of The Tomorrow People. Later, Cat squees about the X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer and there’s some Star Trek: First Contact confusion. Finally, we read some of the feedback we’ve received on Twitter and thank the listeners of the show. Cat hopes @stefanlashley is a good sport because there’s some clowning going on. Thank you @MarkCockram, @crisklages, @AstralAudio, @hal2814, @starsnrain07, @Bluezfan1987, @dougrapson, and @DwightWho.

At the end of the episode, listen to Eric watch ‘Night of the Doctor’ for the first time live! He was totally fangirling it up!

Sci-Fi Party Line #134 Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter & Falling Skies

“Ladies and gentleman I managed to hold it in but I will like to point it out to all of our listeners how Cat has managed to work in ‘Thor’ AND Liam Neeson in a minute and 25 seconds.”
-Carl (@robominister)

“Seriously, I’d want to slap somebody with a horse.”
-Cat (@fancyfembot)

“It seemed like the entire film was a different mod for ‘The Matrix’. Henry was Morpheus…”
-Eric (@Bullitt33)

“The new Dredd looks like ‘New Jack City’ in dystopian future. Instead of Ice-T, we got Karl Urban.”
-Eric (@Bullitt33)
